For over six years, Tyra has provided counseling and case management services to clients in Illinois for:

Tyra’s educational qualifications include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Western Illinois University

  • Master of Arts in Counselling from Northwestern University

  • Studying for Ph.D. in Education Administration and Foundation

Tyra’s authentic, larger-than-life personality makes it easy for her to develop strong clinical relationships. She encourages clients to be fully present and authentically themselves. Tyra threads cultural language, knowledge, and tradition into her sessions. Her theoretical approaches includes: Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Feminist Psychology.

Hey, I’m Tyra! My official title is Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.

But… I’m not just a therapist. I am a proud native of Chicago, IL! My favorite rappers are King Von, Polo G, and Jay Z. My current playlist consists of Giveōn, Summer Walker, Jhené Aiko, Drake, and Ari Lennox. It’s a vibe fasho! On weekends, you can catch me either reading something to move the culture forward or on somebody’s rooftop having brunch with the gang. I bring my full-self into the counseling experience and I encourage my clients to do the same.
