Your Right to a Good Faith Estimate

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your mental health care will cost.

Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who do not have insurance, or who are not using insurance, an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services.

What This Means For You

•       You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services, including psychotherapy services.

•       You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.

•       If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.

•       Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.

When You Will Receive Yours

290 Therapy provides a Good Faith Estimate in writing to all new and continuing clients who are uninsured or not using insurance. You will receive it before your first session, and you can request an updated estimate at any time.

If you schedule a service at least three business days in advance, you will receive your estimate within one business day. If you schedule at least ten business days in advance, you will receive it within three business days. You may also request one at any time, and it will be provided within three business days.
